On Friday 4th March, we celebrated World Book Day, with a fun-packed day of book-themed activities for all the children.
It was fantastic to see all the children dressed up as different book characters this morning. There was an amazing variety of book characters brought to life in school. We had book related activities in our own classes this morning, then split up into colour groups (mixed ages) to enjoy a range of fun activities with different teachers during the afternoon. Activities included story drama games, creating model story settings and retelling stories using shadow puppets.
The children also enjoyed taking part in a reading challenge over the previous few weeks. The sponsorship money of £535 raised by the children was split between Book Aid (supporting developments in literacy in poorer parts of the world, particularly in Africa) and school council nominated projects in our own school.
