The Romeros (Year 2)

Welcome to Year 2 Class

Why are we The Romeros?

From a tiny seed, Jordan Romero was inspired at school to set himself a goal to climb Mt Everest which is the tallest mountain in the world. Jordan became the youngest person ever to climb Everest. He was only 13! He even received the Guinness World Record for this amazing accomplishment. By the time Jordan was 15, he had successfully climbed all of the tallest mountains in the world, called the Seven Summits. Jordan says that you can accomplish what you want by setting goals, finding people who can support you and taking small steps. Jordan says that you must not give up and just give it a go. Anything is possible!

"Age really doesn't matter. If I could do it at 13 then, anybody else could, you know, as long as other people just put their hard work and effort into it… and other kids my age, I'm doing this to set an example for them." - Jordan Romero

What charity are we going to support?

This year we have chosen to support UNICEF which is a worldwide organisation that works in over 190 countries and territories to save children's lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. They never give up – just like The Romeros!
